If you missed Sean Jones performance yesterday at East Cleveland Public Library you missed an incredible concert. Sean had is NY band with him and did some new tunes and old favorites. Sean performed "Transistions," "Black Music," and "Mama" which was dedicated to his mother. His band including Tim Reed on alto and Steve Davis on drums were on fire. By the way, this little gem of an auditorium, The Greg L. Reese Performing Arts Center, is worth the trip to see a show at. Tremendous acoustics no matter where you sit and you are right on top of the stage. Kudos to Greg for a wonderful performance space.
Sean returns to ECPL on Sunday May 3 to wrap up the 2009 Tri-C JazzFest performing the music of McCoy Tyner with local sax great Howie Smith. Ya gotta go and it's FREE!
